About us
Friends of Orton Bradley Park ("we", "us", "our") is a New Zealand charitable organisation that supports Orton Bradley Park.
This policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information, and how you can access and correct that information.
What personal information we collect
We collect only the personal information necessary to run the organisation and provide membership services. This may include:
- Full name
- Email address
- Payment and membership purchase details (e.g. donation or subscription records)
- Any other information you provide when contacting us or completing forms
How and why we collect personal information
We collect personal information directly from you when you sign up for membership, make a payment, contact us, or otherwise interact with our website and services.
The primary purposes for collection are: administering memberships, communicating with members, processing payments, providing receipts, and meeting legal or regulatory obligations.
How we store and protect your information
We store personal information in a secure database and on systems managed by us or our contracted service providers (for example, payment processors and website hosts).
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access, or misuse, including password protection, access controls and encryption where appropriate.
No security measure is perfect — if we become aware of a privacy breach that poses a real risk of serious harm, we will follow our legal obligations to notify affected individuals and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
Sharing and disclosure
We will not sell or otherwise disclose your personal information to third parties for marketing or commercial purposes.
We may disclose personal information to third parties only where necessary for the purposes listed above (for example, payment processors, email delivery services, or our professional advisers) or where we are required or permitted by law to do so.
If personal information is transferred overseas (for example, to a service provider whose servers are located outside New Zealand), we will take reasonable steps to ensure it is adequately protected.
Cookies and website tracking
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site and to improve user experience (for example, to remember form inputs or to collect analytics about site usage).
You can control cookies through your browser settings — blocking cookies may affect site functionality.

- the right to request access to personal information we hold about you;
- the right to request correction of any personal information that is incorrect;
- where applicable, the right to ask us to stop using or to delete your personal information (subject to legal or contractual requirements to retain records).
To exercise these rights, please contact our Privacy Officer (details below). We will respond to access and correction requests within a reasonable time and in accordance with the Privacy Act.
